Spotlight has the distinction of being voted "Best Dance School" in Burnaby for ten years in a row by NOW newspaper readers. Talented Spotlight students, trained in all forms of dance craft, have been invited to Coquitlam & Surrey Festival Honours performances, having earned numerous awards and accolades locally, as well as throughout BC. Spotlight students have also distinguished themselves at the BC Festival of the Arts as Provincial Winners & Runners-up. Many alumni are now teachers and performers in the fields of jazz, tap, ballet, modern dance, hip hop and musical theatre. Spotlight dancers and alumni have performance experience at Royal City Musical Theatre, Theatre Under the Stars, Royal City Nutcracker & Ballet BC Nutcracker, P.N.E.'s Cirque Pop, Fire in the Night, Uncle Randy Productions, and Cavalcade of Stars in Burnaby. Spotlight dancers have also been accepted at Summer Schools for the National Ballet of Canada, Royal Winnipeg Ballet and Toronto Dance Theatre.
About the Studio
Spotlight Dance Centre offers some of the finest dance training facilities in the Greater Vancouver area. With over 7,000 square feet of space available, we utilize two smaller studios as well as two larger, spacious dance studios complete with sprung floors, natural lighting and air conditioning. In addition, our facility provides a private piano room, two change rooms, four bathrooms, a student lounge and several open waiting rooms. Parking is free and abundant around the building and the bus stops near our front door. And for your enjoyment, the neighbourhood boasts plenty of wonderful coffee shops, restaurants and retail shops within walking distance.
